Muslim Clergymen Begin Miracle Healing Crusades

AFRICAN Muslim clergymen have begun performing miracle healing crusades like their Christian counterparts in an new development that recently saw Sheikh Salawatiya Rashid Imam hold an open air session near Accra. 

Taking a leaf from his Christian brethren, Sheikh Imam held a healing crusade at the Kawokudi Park at Mamobi, just outside Accra. During the event, thousands of sick, infirm and needy people gathered to be prayed for and blessed by him in the hope that they would be healed.

Among those who turned up were the blind and cripple, who queued desperately to be blessed with holy water and be touched by the sheikh. To ensure there was enough water for them, Sheikh Imam hired a water tanker and its contents were used to wash the faces of the crowd as well as given to them to drink.

Sheikh Imam said: "Prophet Mohammed said this is the best way to go. If you eat of this and get money from this it is one of the best types of money. "Our Prophet Mohammed used to use water from absolutions and give it to sick people to drink. He also used to recite verses from the Koran and give it to sick people and they became healed." 

Ghana and Nigeria are the two countries with the fastest growing evangelical movements in the world as thousands of pentecostal churches have sprung up in both nations recently. It is mainly Nigerian pastors who have exported their trade to Ghana where they have found a lucrative market as the needy throng to such churches in search of help. Given the cultural and linguistical similarity between both countries, it is easy to adopt whatever work in one nation to the other. With Islamic miracle healing crusades haven taken off in Ghana, it is now only a matter of time before the practise gets exported to Nigeria.

Pro-Palestinian Protesters Attack Israeli Football Team

Pro-Palestinian protesters attack Israeli football players in Austria. 

Pro-Palestinian protesters, said to be of Turkish origin ran into the football pitch in the Austrian stadium where the game was played and headed for the Israeli players sparking ugly incidences.  The Israeli football team Maccabi Haifa were playing a friendly game against French side Lille.  The game had to be stopped, with Lille leading 2-0, after pro-Palestinian protesters stormed the pitch and attacked the Israelis with flying kicks.

Some Maccabi players reportedly fought back as did coach Aleksander Stanojevic.

Now she faces 100 lashes and execution for marrying a US Christian.

This is the first picture of the mother-of-two who has been sentenced to death in Sudan for being a Christian - from inside the prison where she is being held.

In an exclusive photo, Meriam Ibrahim puts on a brave face as she holds her newborn baby girl Maya who was born in the jail where she has been locked up for eight months.

But behind the smile there is a different story - Meriam's eyes have dark rings under them, her arms are alarmingly thin and her face looks gaunt.

Gone is the radiant glow from the day she married husband Daniel Wani, a U. S. citizen, and in its place is a woman struggling with the awful fate awaiting her.

In an exclusive photo, Meriam Ibrahim puts on a brave face as she holds her newborn baby girl Maya.  Maya was born in the jail where Meriam has been locked up for eight months for marrying a Christian.  Picture comes as it emerged Meriam's legs were chained as she gave birth.  The 27-year-old gave birth five days early after months shackled to floor.  Her husband, U.S. citizen Daniel Wani, was pictured with girl in barbaric jail in Khartoum just hours after the birth.  He was initially refused entry to jail but was eventually allowed in with lawyer.  The doctor was sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity after marrying Mr Wani, who lives in New Hampshire.  She will never see Maya grow up as she refuses to renounce Christianity.

Lawyer told MailOnline: 'The family are taking time to enjoy the birth before they fight injustice'

Meriam has spent the past four months shackled to the floor in a disease-ridden jail after being sentenced to death by hanging earlier this month for converting from Islam to Christianity and marrying a Christian man.

Her lawyer Mohaned Mustafa Elnour said the couple are 'happy and proud' of their new arrival and that it has brought a momentary ray of light to an otherwise bleak and desperate situation.

Mr Elnour: 'This is a special moment for them. Daniel is delighted that he is able to see his new daughter so soon.

'The family are taking some time to enjoy the birth before they return to fighting the injustice of Meriam's sentence.'

Mr Wani, a 27-year-old biochemist who lives in Manchester, New Hampshire, also got the chance to hold his 20-month-old son Martin, who is being held in the barbaric prison with his mother.

The photo is especially poignant as Meriam will never see her beautiful daughter grow up. She is set to hang sometime in the next two years as the authorities said she will be executed when she has finished weaning Maya.

And before the birth, Meriam made the defiant claim that she would rather die than give up her faith.

In a heart-wreching conversation with her husband during a rare prison visit, Meriam told him: 'If they want to execute me then they should go ahead and do it because I'm not going to change my faith.'

An Islamic Sharia judge said she could be spared the death penalty if she publicly renounced her faith and becomes a Muslim once more.

Meet Ahmad Salkida, the Only Nigerian Journalist with Unprecedented Access to Boko Haram

Ahmad Salkida was born in Borno State, where Boko Haram originated. He has known Boko Haram leaders all his life and has unprecedented access.

 

Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, fled Nigeria to Dubai two years ago after being accused of being a Boko Haram sympathizer.  He previously worked for Daily Trust and Premium Times and reported extensively on Boko Haram. He said he fled after 'his life and that of his family became endangered' after security agencies began to mistake his in-depth reporting on the terrorist group as evidence of his closeness to them. He went underground for several weeks before finally fleeing Nigeria. Salkida was perhaps the only Nigerian journalist/civilian to have access to Boko Haram, and he said at the time that he'd turned down Boko Haram's many requests for him to publish exclusive interviews and materials for them.

 

But two weeks ago, he was summoned out of exile by President Jonathan’s aides. He initially feared he might face arrest, but was then given a letter of indemnity signed by the President when he flew to Nigeria. 

 

Sources said Mr Salkida was able to travel by taxi to the group’s forest camp to talk to Shekau two weeks ago. ‘His mission was secretive and dangerous,’ they said.

 

It would be recalled that Shekau has released two shocking videos showing the girls dressed in hijabs and reciting verses from the Koran.

 

He reported afterwards that the group of girls he saw were alive and well, and being adequately fed and sheltered. They told him all they wanted was to go home.

 

He is probably the only civilian with access to Shekau. There is trust between them and Salkida had only one aim – to get the schoolgirls out.

Another Bomb Explosion in Jos, Nigeria

Less than a week after multiple explosion killed over 200 people in Jos, the Plateau State capital, another round of explosion has gone off in the city Saturday night, residents and a security official say.

Residents say the explosion occurred along Bauchi Road  near the University of Jos, Jos North Local Government Area.

The sound of the explosion was heard in Jos South LGA, about 25 kilometres away from the scene.

A witness, Tank Shittu, who rushed to the scene five minutes after the blast, said the explosion occurred near a car park, few meters away from a security checkpoint.

The spokesperson of the Police State Command of the Nigeria Police, Felicia Ali, confirmed the incident but said details were still sketchy.

A resident said the suicide bomber died 20 metres from a viewing centre where football fans gathered to watch the ongoing final of the UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid. That could not be independently verified at this time.

Multiple explosions had on May 20 occurred around the ever-busy Jos Main Market, between Railway Terminus and the temporary site of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, killing over 200 people.

Mariam Yahya Ibrahim Ishag: "I Was Never a Muslim. I Was Raised A Christian from the Start."

Mariam Yahya Ibrahim Ishag, 27, was sentenced to death last week for refusing to renounce her Christian faith in front of Sudanese court which considers her a Muslim.  She was also charged with adultery for marrying Christian Daniel Wani and sentenced to 100 lashes.

 

She told the Sudanese court: 'I was never a Muslim. I was raised a Christian from the start'. But Ishag is considered a Muslim by the court because her father was a Sudanese Muslim despite her being raised by a Christian mother.

 

She has been shackled at the legs in prison where she is being held with the couple's 20-month-old son Martin. The couple's lawyer is working on an appeal to the 27-year-old's sentence amid mounting international pressure.

 

Mr. Daniel Wani was born in war-torn Sudan but fled to the U.S. in 1998. He settled in Manchester, New Hampshire.  He says his son Martin is a U.S. citizen, but State Department would not confirm the boy's legal status.

 

The husband was allegedly asked to send a DNA sample to U.S. Embassy in Khartoum to prove Martin is his son.

"It is Now You Will See the True Face of My Madness" - Says Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram Leader

 

The full transcribed text of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau's message delivered in Hausa and his local dialect, Kanuri, reads:

 

“Of course there is no doubt about it; we carried out the attacks in Maiduguri and we were responsible for the other attacks being carried out all over. But the Giwa Barracks attack is something worth telling, because Allah has helped us to kill his enemies in Giwa Barracks. We launched the Maiduguri attacks and killed infidels in Giwa Barracks.

 

 

“But specifically, I will devote half of my speech to the issue of Civilian JTF. Your name is not Civilian JTF but Civilian Trouble.

 

“My advice to you so-called Civilian-JTF is to flee, take up arms, get conscripted into the army or police, because I am telling you is that I have started a war against you. The war against you has just begun.

 

 

“In this world, there are two kinds of people; there are those who are with us or those who are against us, and the latter group are those I’ll kill once I spot them. From now on, my focus of attack is going
to be the Civilian-JTF.

 

“Let the Civilian-JTF know that this is me, Shekau talking. You will now really understand the person called Shekau. You don’t know my madness, right? It is now that you will see the true face of my madness. I swear by Allah’s holy name that I will slaughter you. I will not be happy if I don’t personally put my knife on your necks and slit your throats. Yes! I’ll slaughter you! I’ll slaughter you! And I’ll slaughter you again and again. “I call on all my followers and brethren wherever you are, to rise and take up arms and start killing the vagabond. Kill them, kill them and kill them. Now our religion and our way of worship is nothing but killings, killings and killings! Kill and slaughter but don’t eat them. You should spare the old, women, the lunatic, and the repentant.

 

“You only succeeded in arresting innocent civilians in the city, placing tyres on their necks and setting them alight.

 

“By Allah, I will kill you. Killing is my job. Let’s kill them all, we’d rather leave this world. Let the whole world perish! May Allah curse you “Oh! Allah, they are your servants but are they are assisting (Goodluck) Jonathan, they are your servants who pray but are humouring the Koran, they are your servants but are assisting Clinton and Obama.

 

“Allah gave us the courage to break into Giwa Barracks (where) we killed and we burnt. We rescued over 2,000 of our brethren, and most of them Commanders!…One of them even took up a gun and started fighting there. They all got away.

 

“Glory be to Allah. The world has changed! Work has started. And for your information, western education is forbidden. University is forbidden, you should vacate university! You should leave university, I hate university. You should quit university, I hate it, bastard.

 

“Western education is totally forbidden. Girls, you should return to your homes. In Islam, it is allowed to take infidel women as slaves and in due course we will start taking women away and sell in the market.

 

“We carried out the Maiduguri attack. And those you killed included freed detainees who were not our members but ordinary people who on being freed headed to town, thinking they were safe. They were dressed in shorts and when you encountered them you mistook them for us and killed them. This was what really happened.

 

“We rescued all of our brethren, we gave them clothing, shelter, vehicles, food and all they needed….Our brethren are in good state, we thank God.

 

“Nigerians, let me let you know that you are in serious disaster. Don’t think we are northerners, because you are misunderstanding the whole thing. Let me make it crystal clear to you to save you from unnecessary distorted newspapers and the radio analysis on issues you don’t understand. We are not fighting the north, we are fighting the world. And you will see us fighting the world. This is our job.

 

“I promise that we will kill all your (Muslim) clerics. Just like I killed Albani and it was splashed all over the newspapers. I’ll kill them all. Who was Albani, he was nothing. I’ll kill all of them. I’ll spare none but who follow Allah and the Prophet. Whoever follows Jews and the west is my enemy.

 

“My brethren wherever you are, in Abuja, Lagos, or the south-south, wherever you are, commence attacks. Even as an individual, take up your swords and slaughter anyone you come across in his sleep.

 

“My brethren, take up knives and start slaughtering people. Just pick up your knife and break into homes and kill. I heard some people are asking Jonathan to relocate to the northeast to take charge of the fight against us, but let me tell you, Jonathan is too small, let even Obama, the President of America relocate to Nigeria and take charge, we will not be deterred”.

Struggling waitress left $1,075 tip on $29.30 bill by generous family who told her 'Jesus blessed us and we were led to give it to you'

Khadijah Muhammad turned up to work at Cheddar's cafe-restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee on Wednesday knowing that she needed a miracle.

 

As she left her house there was a disconnection notice on the door that her electricity was about to be shut off - one of many bills that amounted this month after the 26-year-old wife was forced to give up her shifts and rush to Ohio to be with her mom, who had suffered a heart attack.

 

'All I wanted was to see my mother one more time,' a teary Muhammad told WBIR.

 

'With God's help, I managed to make it up there driving in the middle of the big snow storm that hit earlier this month.

 

'I was able to see her and she pulled through, thankfully.'

 

But when she returned home, her financial woes awaited.

 

'It started to sink in how much work I missed and that I was not going to be able to pay all of my bills,' she said. 

 

'I've been trying to pick up any extra shifts that I can. I was thinking I'm really going to need a miracle to pay my bills this month.'

 

Her shift started normally and, being mid-week, business was fairly slow.

 

Among the customers were a husband and a wife and their small child.

 

'They really did not stand out,' Muhammad recalled. They were just nice folks. I remember talking to them and having a friendly conversation like you would with a neighbor.'

 

'The father ordered a country steak. The mother and son split a fish taco. They split it. They were really humble people.'

 

The bill was $29.30 after tax, but the receipt was turned upside down when Muhammad went to clear the table, which is usually a bad sign.

 

'Normally, as a server, when a receipt is turned upside down it means you did not get a good tip or any tip,' she said.

 

'Or people will leave a nasty note about how you messed something up with their service. I remember thinking, ''I wonder what I did wrong''.

 

However the receipt turned Muhammad's life upside down.

 

'I just remember seeing a comma after the one and knew it wasn't $10. And I was like, ''Oh, my God!'' And I just lost my balance and I was like, 'Does this say a thousand dollars?' I could not believe it.'

 

The tip was for $1,075 - representing a tithe the family would have normally given to their church.

While the couple wish to stay anonymous, they told WBIR they had recently moved to Knoxville from Ohio and had not decided where to send their tithe money.

 

They had recently received a work bonus and, after being impressed with Muhammad's service, decided their donation this month should go to her.

The note they left Muhammad partially explained the decision, saying: 'Jesus Blessed us and we were led to give it to you. God Bless!'

 

What makes the story all the more surprising is that the family were completely unaware of Muhammad's circumstances and just how much they have helped her.

 

'I just want to thank them,' she said.

'Thank them so much, because I'm humbled. I'm grateful. I do believe that God led you to me at this time in my life. I hope and pray that someday I'm able to do this for somebody. And at the first opportunity I will do it.'

South African Pastor Makes Congregation EAT Grass! (See Photos).

Religion, still waxing strong as the opium of the masses.  While Jesus fed his followers with loaves of bread and fish, Pastor Lesogo Daniel of Rabboni Centre Ministries, a South African Church at  Garankuwa TUT campus at Pretoria, reportedly fed his flock (literally) grass.

As proof of the power of the spirit of God, he commanded his congregation to eat grass, and they all did accordingly.

24-Hour Curfew Imposed on Maiduguri, Nigeria, Following an Attack by Suspected Boko Haram Members

 

Seems the end has not been heard of Boko Haram.

 

The Borno government on Monday imposed a 24-hour curfew on Maiduguri metropolis following an attack by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect in some parts of the state capital.

 

Alhaji Ahmed Jidda the Secretary to the State Government, announced the decision in a statement released to newsmen in Maiduguri.

 

The statement said that the curfew was imposed in consultation with the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.

 

“During the period of curfew, government pleads with all citizens to remain calm.

 

“Only vehicles on emergency calls and essential services are allowed to move while the curfew will be lifted as soon as situation improves, ‘’ it added.

 

“The imposition of the curfew is necessitated by an attack in Maiduguri by people suspected to be Boko Haram members in the early hours of today.”

 

The apparently large attack in a major urban centre will cast further doubt on military claims that the Islamist insurgents have been pushed into remote, more rural parts of the northeast.

 

The military on Saturday said they would tighten security in communities near Nigeria’s northern and eastern borders with Chad, Niger and Cameroon due to fears about Boko Haram strikes over the Christmas and New Year period.

 

Army spokesman Ibrahim Attahiruon Monday said  that one of the attacks struck near the city’s airport but he was not able to provide further details.

 

The phone network has been down in Borno state since mid-May, when a state of emergency was declared in the area.

 

The military said the shutdown would help block militants from coordinating attacks but with no working mobile phone service, details of the conflict in the area have been difficult to verify.

 

The latest violence began at around 3:00 am (0200 GMT) and included bomb and gun attacks,

Boko Haram was founded in Maiduguri more than 10 years ago and has attacked the city repeatedly.

A Somali Muslim has been hailed a hero after rescuing a mother and her three daughters from the Nairobi shopping mall as gunmen threw grenades and sprayed bullets yards away.

 

Katherine Walton feared she and her children would not get out alive after becoming trapped under a table outside a supermarket in the Westgate complex.

 

But they were saved by Abdul Haji, the son of a former Kenyan security minister, who bravely ushered them to safety as he fired back at the terrorists with a handgun.

 

His identity has now been revealed after his story was immortalised in an iconic photograph which shows him reaching out to Mrs Walton's four-year-old daughter Portia as she runs away with fear etched on her face.
