Angelina Jolie Encounters God!

Actress-turned-director, Angelina Jolie, has been open about her disbelief in God.  In 2000, she said: "There doesn't need to be a God for me. There is something in people that's spiritual, that's godlike." But recently, Angelina has had a serious change of heart.

She has been directing the film 'Unbroken', a story about the life of WWII hero, Olympic athlete, and devout Christina Louis Zamperini. Angelina spent lots of time with Louis discussing his testimony and how he came to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour. Then God sent her a miracle on-set!

Angelina desperately needed sun to shoot the very last scene of the movie, but the rain would not stop. That's when something truly amazing happened.

Louis Zamperini's daughter, Cynthia said, "She (Angelina) was not a person of faith and had never prayed before, but she found herself at the very last scene of the movie... they needed sunlight to shoot this very important scene and there had been a storm that had been going for a while.

Angelina said, 'I don't know what I'm going to do so I will do what Louie would do.' She got on her knees and she prayed for a miracle ... everybody saw it ... It stopped raining. The sun came out, a rainbow came out. She said, 'Let's get this take' and they shot the take. When she said 'cut', it started to rain again." 

This was not the only sign that a seed was planted in Angelina's heart.  When she heard that Louis Zamperini was on his deathbed, she rushed to the hospital. Sadly, she did not make it before the hero passed. But when she saw Louis' family, she "pointed above saying 'I know he's with us, I know he's there with God'."

Indian Tycoon Throws Mass Wedding for Fatherless Women

An Indian diamond trader has thrown a mass wedding ceremony for 111 fatherless women and given each one gifts worth thousands of dollars, saying giving a bride away was "sacred".

Mahesh Savani said the women, whose families were all too poor to finance their weddings, saw him as their foster father.

The 44-year-old said he had given each one gifts of gold and other items worth 450,000 rupees ($7,250) to start their married lives, as well as paying for the wedding.

"Material gifts are not important, but I have given my name to them and will fulfil all my responsibilities as a father of the bride for the rest of my life," he told AFP before the ceremony was held at a school in Gujarat state on Sunday.

Savani, who has now organised the weddings of 251 women, said he began his charitable campaign in 2008 when one of his own staff members died.

"I was very shocked when one of my employees died just 12 days before he could marry off his two daughters. It was very difficult for the family to arrange for marriage," he said.

"So I decided that I would become their foster father and marry them off. This is how it began," Savani said.

It is not known how much the giant ceremony wedding cost, but Indian weddings are famous for their grand scale with multi-course feasts, decorated horses, brass bands and huge tents arranged to entertain hundreds or even thousands of guests.

14 Signs He's Only Interested in Sex

11 Tips to Prolong Your Smartphone Battery Life

Unarguably, longer battery life is one of the biggest challenges facing smartphone manufacturers. While software and computer chips get faster and more powerful, the technology in batteries lags far behind. Below are some tips to ensure your smartphone does not run out of battery halfway through the day.

1. DIM YOUR PHONE'S SCREEN

Try to set your screen to a level that is visible, but not unnecessarily bright because the brighter you screen is, the more battery power is consumed.

2. TURN OFF BLUETOOTH 

Bluetooth is a system that enables devices to connect to each other wirelessly over short distances. This should be turned off at all times and only turn on when you need to use it.

3. DON'T LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN THE SUN

Heat makes battery drain faster.  Always keep your phone in a cool, well-ventilated place.

4. SWITCH OFF YOUR NOTIFICATIONS

Xenia Ignatyeva's Last Selfie Before Death Came Calling

On April 22, 2014, Xenia Ignatyeva, a 17-year-old girl, took a selfie from a bridge 28 feet off the ground to impress her friends. Ignatyeva went to the bridge in Krasnogvardeysky to take a photograph of herself at night with the railway line in the background to give "the most dramatic effect". She went with her friend but was taking the selfie herself so she went up there on her own. Her friend, Oksana Zhankova, also 17, waited below.

Ignatyeva lost her balance and as she fell from the bridge in Saint Petersburg grabbed a high voltage cable, in an effort to save herself, and was tragically electrocuted in the process.

Syrian Woman Secretly Films Life in Raqqa Under ISIS

A mystery woman has covertly provided the world with a rare glimpse of life in the heartland of the Islamic State using a camera concealed beneath her niqab.

The extraordinary footage was taken in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the 'capital' of the militant regime since March.

She is forced to wear the traditional Islamic clothing, which covers the entire face except for the eyes, under the strict Sharia law imposed by IS, which has taken vast swathes of Iraq and Syria in a bloody campaign.

The footage covertly shows men wielding Kalashnikov assault rifles everywhere in the city which is about 100 miles from Aleppo, Syria's largest city.

It is not just men who have taken up arms to defend IS nascent regime as a niqab-garbed woman, taking her children to the park, is seen with a Kalashnikov assault rifle slung over her shoulder.

There is also a heart-stopping moment when an armed man in a car calls over the woman filming, telling her she has to 'behave better' in public.

Her crime? Her face can be seen, something forbidden by the militants' interpretation of Islam.

She apologises for the transparency of her veil, to which the man responds: 'You have to pay attention by covering up. God loves women who are covered.' 

The report, aired on a French TV channel, describes forced prayer times and how there is no music and no entertainment.

It also features some of the estimated 150 women who have chosen to leave France to live in the Islamic State.

The camerawoman enters an internet cafe where women are seen talking in French and contacting family members they have left behind.

One woman tells her mother: 'I am not going back, mom. I am telling it to you bluntly. You have to get it through your head that I am not returning.

'I did not take the risk by coming here to go back to France. I do not want to return because I am doing well here mom. There is nothing to gain from weeping or being afraid.'

The daughter, defends her new homeland, adding: 'All I see on TV is false. They exaggerate everything on TV.'

Her mother's anguish is justified. Raqqa was targeted by the U.S. and its Arabic allies in a series of air strikes this week.

Muslim Clergymen Begin Miracle Healing Crusades

AFRICAN Muslim clergymen have begun performing miracle healing crusades like their Christian counterparts in an new development that recently saw Sheikh Salawatiya Rashid Imam hold an open air session near Accra. 

Taking a leaf from his Christian brethren, Sheikh Imam held a healing crusade at the Kawokudi Park at Mamobi, just outside Accra. During the event, thousands of sick, infirm and needy people gathered to be prayed for and blessed by him in the hope that they would be healed.

Among those who turned up were the blind and cripple, who queued desperately to be blessed with holy water and be touched by the sheikh. To ensure there was enough water for them, Sheikh Imam hired a water tanker and its contents were used to wash the faces of the crowd as well as given to them to drink.

Sheikh Imam said: "Prophet Mohammed said this is the best way to go. If you eat of this and get money from this it is one of the best types of money. "Our Prophet Mohammed used to use water from absolutions and give it to sick people to drink. He also used to recite verses from the Koran and give it to sick people and they became healed." 

Ghana and Nigeria are the two countries with the fastest growing evangelical movements in the world as thousands of pentecostal churches have sprung up in both nations recently. It is mainly Nigerian pastors who have exported their trade to Ghana where they have found a lucrative market as the needy throng to such churches in search of help. Given the cultural and linguistical similarity between both countries, it is easy to adopt whatever work in one nation to the other. With Islamic miracle healing crusades haven taken off in Ghana, it is now only a matter of time before the practise gets exported to Nigeria.
